Plant City Police Department Welcomes Four New Officers at Swearing-In Ceremony

The Plant City Police Department welcomed four new officers during a swearing-in ceremony held on June 18, 2026, marking an exciting day of service, commitment, and community pride.

The ceremony recognized Officer Collin Bugg #428, Officer Collin Jennings #429, Officer Kenneth Sikes #430, and Officer Jean-Claude Daoud II #431 as they officially begin their next chapter with the Plant City Police Department.

For each officer, the moment represented more than a new role. It represented a personal commitment to protect, serve, and invest in the Plant City community.

Meet the Officers

  • Officer Collin Bugg, a proud Plant City native, brings a strong foundation of service to his new role. A devoted husband, father of two, veteran, and public servant, Officer Bugg served eight years in the United States Air Force as a Ground Transportation Operator. His background reflects discipline, leadership, and dedication, values he now carries into his service with the Plant City Police Department.

  • Officer Collin Jennings was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan, and moved to Florida 11 years ago. After beginning the police academy at Polk State College in January 2026, he completed basic law enforcement training in May 2026.

  • Officer Kenneth Sikes, born and raised in the Plant City area, is also a proud military veteran, having served in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. After earning a degree in cybersecurity and working in information technology, Officer Sikes pursued his lifelong goal of becoming a law enforcement officer.

  • Officer Jean-Claude Daoud II was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area and brings prior law enforcement experience to PCPD. After completing the police academy at Pasco-Hernando State College in 2022, he served as a Deputy with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office for three years and attained the position of Field Training Officer.

A Heartfelt Farewell to Deputy Chief Joseph Centanni

The ceremony also included a heartfelt recognition of Deputy Chief Centanni, who is stepping into a new leadership role as Chief at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Several speakers shared remarks honoring his service, leadership, and lasting impact on the department. In his own words, he described PCPD as more than a workplace, calling the men and women of the department colleagues, friends, and family.

It was a meaningful reminder that law enforcement is built not only on training and duty, but also on trust, relationships, mentorship, and a shared commitment to the community.

The Friends of the Plant City Police Department Foundation was honored to be present for this special occasion and celebrates both the officers beginning their service in Plant City and the leaders whose legacy continues to shape the department.

Congratulations to Officers Bugg, Jennings, Sikes, and Daoud. We are grateful for your commitment to serve Plant City.
